Our company has a work force of more than 400 highly skilled employees along with the newest heavy construction equipment available, consisting of bulldozers, motor graders, backhoes, combinations, loaders, excavators, draglines and dump trucks. The equipment is meticulously maintained in our Maintenance Facility, which has full-service mechanics and is located at our corporate headquarters. In order to reduce the loss of time and production, we also have twelve service trucks, which fuel and lubricate our equipment on site.
The President Sam LoBue personally oversees the Earthwork, Paving and Concrete Divisions. The large fleet of equipment enables us to meet the needs of every client, whether their job is large or small. Our Concrete Division installs extruded and machine poured curb, sidewalk and road barriers. They also form and pour concrete for bridges and retaining walls. Our Asphalt Division paves the roads and parking lots and mills the roads when necessary. When the paving is complete, the Striping and Signage Division adds the final touches to the asphalt. All signs (stop, street name, etc.) are manufactured in Downrite’s Sign Production Facility and are then installed by our employees.
Downrite Engineering currently has eight survey crews working in the field every day. These crews are under the direction of a highly trained staff, as well as a state-certified surveyor, utilizing the latest software and AutoCAD system. The in-house survey staff produces and certifies the construction drawings, thus expediting the needs of every client.
The Vice-President, Joseph LoBue, Jr., supervises twenty-four underground utility crews, which can install any size pipeline. The foremen, superintendents and crews have been trained in trench safety and diving techniques, enabling them to safely install pipe under water. These crews also install sewage pumping stations to depths of over thirty-five (35) feet. Downrite has a precast division that manufacturers all drainage structures used on our job sites. We also have seven electrical crews under the direct supervision of a Master Electrician. These crews specialize in the installation of cable television, telephone and electrical main feeder lines, street lighting and generators.
